In the spring of 1975, Cambodia fell to communist forces plunging the country into a genocide which claimed the lives of millions. My mother, brothers, and sisters escaped that genocide in the early quarter. Growing up an American-born Cambodian, I wasn't sheltered from the stories of war and devastation.
